How do I play?
Simply click Play Now and choose six numbers between 1 and 49 (or we can choose for you) and this will be your entry or ‘chance’ in the Star Lottery. It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
Can I enter more than once?
Yes, you are more than welcome to enter more than once. You can enter up to 5 chances, paying on a monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual basis.
How much will my Direct Debit be?
Every chance costs just £1.00 per draw and the amount debited will depend on the frequency you selected:
- Monthly Direct Debits - £4 or £5 per month (dependent on the number of draws in the month)
- Quarterly Direct Debits - £13 per quarter
- Bi-Annual Direct Debits - £26 every six months
- Annual Direct Debits - £52 per year
Only Monthly Direct Debits will be available for online entries. All frequencies will be available by downloading the entry form on the website.
How will the Direct Debit show on my Bank statement?
This will appear as RSG Lottery
When will my Direct Debit be collected?
You can choose from the 1 or 15th of the month. Your Direct Debit will be collected on your chosen day (or closest working day).
Will I receive confirmation?
Yes, we will send you confirmation in the post within 10 days which will contain all your payment details, chance numbers and the date of your first draw.
How often does the draw take place?
There is a draw every week on a Friday.
What can I win?
Each week you have the opportunity to win one of 12 prizes: 1st Prize: £20,000, 2nd Prize: £1,000 and 10 Runner-Up Prizes: £10 in John Lewis vouchers.
How does it work?
Each week 6 numbers between 1 and 49 are randomly selected. We will then check all the eligible entries to see if any match 6 or 5 numbers in any order. If you match all 6 numbers you will win our jackpot of £20,000 and £1,000 if you match 5 numbers.
What's more, every week 10 lucky winners are randomly selected from all eligible entries who are guaranteed to win £10 in John Lewis vouchers.
What if more than one entry matches 5 or 6 numbers?
The prize pot will be equally split between each winning entry.
How will I know if I've won?
You'll receive a letter from us within 7 working days of the draw confirming if you are a winner.
How do you pay me my winnings?
We will send you a cheque or a voucher depending on which prize you have won.
How do I know that this is fair and legal?
The Royal Star & Garter Star Lottery is fully licenced and regulated by the Gambling Commission, license number 28868, and complies with all Gambling Commission Requirements. The UK Gambling Commission is the regulatory body for casinos, bingo clubs, gaming machines, and the larger society lotteries in Great Britain. We have to report on every draw to the Gambling Commission and receive regular audits and visits to make sure that our Lottery is always fully compliant.

The Royal Star & Garter Lottery is run by Royal Star & Garter, and administered by Woods Group Ltd, Bumpers Way, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN14 6NG who are our appointed External Lottery Manager. The Royal Star & Garter Lottery is regulated by the Gambling Commission and complies with all regulations under the 2005 Gambling Act.

Can I still play if I live in Northern Ireland?
Unfortunately, no. Only residents of Great Britain can play the Star Lottery.
